2018 was a banner year for the VCFL! The Valley Community Football League is comprised of the Chilliwack Giants, Meadow Ridge Knights, Abbotsford Falcons, Mission 9'ers and the North Langley Bears/Kodiaks.
Spring flag was successful with each association fielding teams at almost every level. The Chilliwack Giants program was so healthy, they ran their own program up to U16 and had 21 teams on the field. The VCFL at large was honoured to participate in the VMFL spring flag program.
Fall tackle was the most successful year the VCFL has ever had. This year we were joined by atom teams from Cloverdale, North Delta and Langley Minor. It was an honour to have these teams compete.
At 9-man, the Atom Falcons lost a one point heart-breaker to the hard fighting Vernon Magnums in the Atom finals. The Midget Giants came 2nd in BC losing to the 3-peating White Rock Titans.
At 12-man, the VCFL were victorious at every division. BC Championship trophy's were given to the Pee Wee Falcons, Junior Bantam Knights, Bantam Bears and Midget Kodiaks.
For 2019, The VCFL is excited to launch a 12-man spring tackle division. It's a challenge we are facing together and hope to share the success with the rest of our football family.
The VCFL remains a tight knit family of dedicated volunteers who strive to work together for the common good. United to grow the game and develop the youth of our community.
We want to recognize the departure of Chel Sanghera as president of the VCFL. Her years of dedication to the sport, this league and all the kids who love this game cannot be appreciated enough.
Likewise the departure of Wayne Bjorge as vice-president, a true builder in every sense of the word. Thank you Wayne for all you have done and continue to do for the youth of BC.
We would love to thank the BCPFA, BCCFA, LMFRA and the VMFL for everything you do for community football. Together we are stronger. #harmoniousleague
