ETC Services Chilliwack Atom Blue Giants - 8

North Langley Atom Bears - 0

This weekend, the ETC Services Atom Blue Giants travelled to Langley McLeod Stadium to battle the Bears.  They came home with a hard fought, “team” win. Quarterback Carter Dallas led the offence, and got the lone touchdown of the game on a bootleg to the right.  Pierson Capstick finished it off, kicking for the 2 point conversion.  Erick “Bighill” Hauser led the offensive line, make lanes for the running backs that you could drive a truck through. On defence, Defensive End Gavin Parks was causing havoc in the Bears backfield all day, and Leo Sutcliffe was putting pressure on the interior of the line.  Jace Gienger was a shut down corner, making big game saving tackles, one after another.  With Mateo Ried as the other corner, the Blue Giants shut out the Bears in a great team game.

Next up, the Atom Blue Giants host the Mission Niners at Chilliwack Townsend Park on Chilliwack Ford Friday Night Lights (October 9th).

The Giants offence was effective and efficient throughout the game.  Tail Back Joshua Caverly got the scoring started with a 60 yard touchdown run on the first drive of the game.  Quarterbacks Lucas Feaver and Aiden Saunders got their first touchdowns of the season both on QB keeper plays later in the game.  These plays were all made possible by the explosive offensive line led  by Zach Wolter, Evan Butler and Mitchell Price creating huge holes and gaps throughout the Knights defense.  Gavin Kheleh and Chloe Dades were standouts at the wide receiver position.

Wyatt Stobbs was a the special teams MVP corralling and perfectly placing all snaps that came at him on the PAT’s.

The Pee Wee Blue Giants will travel to Abbotsford this Saturday to take on the Black Falcons and then they will be at home on Monday to take on the Meadow Ridge Blue Knights.

Abbotsford Atom Black Falcons - 36

In a tough physical game ETC Services Atom Blue battled hard against the Abby Atom Black squad.  Missing 3 key starters and losing another during the game, the boys played their hearts out, never giving up. Excellent kickoff coverage led by Callan Johnson kept Abby in check all day long.  The Giants return team was dangerous all day as well. Carter Dallas following his blockers, led by Keegan Mitchell took one back to the house for a TD! Defensively blue was led by Ridley Mastin with a couple of bone jarring hits and Brooklyn Groves-Vula (BK) with a key fumble recovery. On the Offensive Line, there was great line work by Shea Khan and Jake wood allowing QB Carter Dallas to operate the offense, and open up running lanes for fullback Logan Duff.  Carter Dallas capped off a long sustained drive with a QB sneak for a TD late in the game.

This week the High Country Homes Atom White Giants took to the road to play the 3-0 Meadow Ridge Atom Blue team.  The White Giants started slowly, finding themselves down 15-0 after the first quarter.  The White Giants would find their game in a big way in the second.  The offense began to march with a rhythm down the field with Christian Becks “No Quit” runs and Isaiah Grant putting his speed on display.  None of this would be possible if it wasn’t for the strong down field blocking by Hadley Downey and Charlie Larson.  The Giants would go into half up by one, 22-21.   The offense would continue to roll putting up another 18 points in the second half led again by the big boys up front, Yapo Conteh, Logan Both, Giovanni Willis, Austin Staffen, Logan Milko, Elliott Budinski and Camilo Salas.  With 30 seconds left in the game, the Giants were up 40-33.  Meadow ridge would score a major and make the 2 point after kick to defeat the Giants 41-40.

Special teams were huge for the giants on this day.  Logan Both and Austin Staffen were beasts playing massive rolls in getting the ball back on multiple kick offs.  The High Country Homes White Giants defense fought hard on every possession, giving all they had to slow down the high powered Meadow Ridge offense.  Meadow Ridge was forced to run outside due to the Nose tackles Mason Welch, Owen Vanderhoek, Luke both, Noah Sandau and Jack Petty clogging up the middle of the field.  It was a hard fought and fun game!

You can see your High Country Homes Atom White Giants in action next on October 3rd, 11:30am at Townsend Field

The offense started off strong with Fullback Pierson “Cappy” Capstick getting a touchdown, and Carter Dallas getting a touchdown in the first half.  Ayden Glendinning, Zach Petraschuk, and Tristan Frick carried the ball at Running Back to march Blue down the field as well.  The defense had a big stop at the end of the second quarter, and the Blue Giants were up 12-8 at halftime. Gavin Parks was the clear MVP on defense, playing at Defensive End and disrupting the opposition in their backfield.  Ridley Mastin proved versatile by playing 3 different positions on defense, and Matteo Reid played well at Corner. IHOP Player of the Game was Tight End and Corner, Callan Johnson.  Callan also got a turnover on Special Teams to get Atom Blue the ball on an onside kick.  Catch the complete game on our Chilliwack Giants YouTube Channel, click on the link for just the highlights. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S99p_e1ZC5Y

The High Country Homes Atom White Giants battled Meadow Ridge Gold at Townsend Field this week.  It was a hard fought and tightly contested first half where both teams defenses were dominating.  The relentless pressure from Yapo Conteh and Logan Milko kept the ball in Golds back field for much of the first half.  With seconds left in the half Meadow Ridge would score to go up 7-0.

In the second half the Gold team would begin to roll giving the High Country Homes White Giants all they could handle.  Late in the game the White Giants offense began to move the ball with more consistency and efficiency led again by the big boys on the Offensive Line.  It would not be enough on this day as the Atom White Giants fell 26-0.

Yapo Conteh was awarded the Ihop Player of the Game for his dominating performance.

The next game for the High Country Homes Atom White Giants will be at Samuel Robertson Tech against Meadow Ridge Blue.

The Cheam Source For Sports Pee Wee Blue Giants defended their home field at Townsend Field this week against the Abbotsford White Falcons.  The Giants pounded the ground game on route to a 24-7 victory.

Joshua Caverly scored 3 touchdowns, had over 200 yards on the ground and led a powerful Giants ground attack.  These highlight reel runs were made possible by a dominate offensive line led by Sebastian Gonzalez and Tyler Bergin and by the down field blocking of starting wide outs Ben Amey and Lyndon Arnush.  Andrew Fawcett’s shotgun snapping was spot on all day allowing the offence to vary its play calling considerably and keep the Falcons off balance.  Ben Frost scored the Giants 4th touchdown on a great 50 yard run.

The Giants defense was rock solid all  day long.  They were led by linebackers Aiden Saunders and Lucas Feaver who’s  tenacity and leadership inspired the whole team .  The Giants defensive line was a force to be reckoned with and was led by Aiden Parks and Matthew Phillips who were in the Falcon backfield all day long.  Db’s Jace Nessel and Kenyan Reid both made huge touchdown saving tackles.  Safety Jared Rahnborn had one interception and pounded all Falcons that ran up the middle with some huge tackles.  Deaglan Perry was the special teams standout, being in on 4 tackles on the kick off.

The Giants travel to Maple Ridge next Saturday to take on the Blue Knights.
